Around 195 containers of liquor worth around Rs 8 lakh were seized from a canter by police during a vehicle check in front Kotwali Jaithera Police station.
The accused, Akram, hailing from Agra has been arrested by the police in this connection, they said.
The 9,350 seized bottles of liquor have an estimated worth of Rs 8 lakh. Akram was smuggling the booze, only to be sold legally inside Arunanchal Pradesh, from Chandigarh, police said.
The accused has been booked under relevant sections of Excise Act, they added.
Ravendra Singh, Inspector (Jaithera) said that police were investigating the matter.
