A solid waste management project will be launched across Punjab under which power and manure will be produced out of solid waste, the state government said today.
"Under the project, there will be 100 per cent door-to- door collection of solid waste, from which electricity, fuel and manure will be produced. The project will be completed in a phased manner," Punjab Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi said here.
At present, the project is being carried out at Jalandhar cluster which will cater to 27 municipalities under its jurisdiction, the Minister said.
The government has divided all municipalities in the state into 8 clusters for implementing the project, he said.
