Rahul discusses politics, films with Tamil director Ranjith, actor Kalaiyarasan

"A national leader engaging with ppl from all ideologies is very encouraging," he tweeted.

At the AICC briefing on whether any political meaning should be drawn from Gandhi's meeting with Ranjith, who is considered close to Rajnikanth, denied so.

"Any interpretation or any other or any source based stories, we emphatically reject," she told reporters.

Ranjith made his directorial debut with the romantic comedy "Attakathi" before going on to make the political drama "Madras" and the starrers "Kabali" and "Kaala". He interspersed the "Kaala" script with several Dalit symbolisms.
