Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai today met members of auto rickshaw unions over the upcoming car-free day in the capital.
Members of the Union promised to provide free auto services from Red Fort to India Gate, the stretch that will go 'car-free' on October 22.
As many as 400 volunteers of the Union will also run an awareness campaign in this regard with pamphlets like 'Ab Bus Karein' to encourage people to participate in the programme in large numbers.

Speaking on the occasion, Rai held private vehicles to be the prime reason behind rising pollution and traffic jams saying public transport was the "only way forward".
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also participate in a 'Cycle Rally' on that day when the government will deploy as many as 20 DTC buses as shuttle service on the selected stretch.
Besides, the government will also arrange e-rickshaws on this route so that people don't have to face problem.
