Rs 12.5 lakh looted from nationalised bank branch in Dankuni

Armed miscreants robbed Rs 12.5 lakh at gunpoint from a nationalised bank here today, police said.

Four miscreants, who came in motorcycles, barged into the branch of Central Bank of India, located at Dankuni Housing More locality. They fired several rounds in the air before holding the bank staff at gunpoint and looted the cash, police said.

The incident happened at around 2 pm when there were only a few customers inside the branch as it was lunch time.

Ajoy Kumar, Commissioner of the Chandernagore Police Commissionerate, said no one has been arrested so far.
