The sarpanch of a village here has been suspended for allegedly getting a submersible pump installed on a private land out of Panchayat fund, to allow undue favour to people known to him, officials said today.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ajit Balaji Joshi gave the suspension order after he found the allegations made against Jalalpur Kalan sarpanch Subhash in a FIR by the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) to be "true".
He had also allegedly got the machinery intalled without obtaining an electricity connection here.
The DC also ordered him to hand over the Panchayat records and property, both movable and immovable, to the Panch.
Subhash was also suspended last year in February by the then DC Rajeev Ratna.
