Secy to President launches digital literacy programme

Secretary to the President Omita Paul today launched a digital literacy programme titled 'Shakti' for women and girls in the President's Estate in Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

Speaking on the occasion she said several initiatives have been taken in the President's Secretariat, especially for women, to make them realise their dreams by empowering them.

She said that the initiative, titled 'Shakti Digital Literacy Programme' and 'Helping Women Get Online' launched in collaboration with Google, will help women residing in the premises of the President's Estate to improve their lives.

This initiative of helping women get online is aimed at empowering them through access to information with focus on knowledge and awareness. It is an endeavour to equip women to discharge their daily functions with improved efficiency, an official release said.
