Seeking to bring down liquor prices, man climbs atop tower

Seeking to reduce the rates of liquor and also not to close down liquor shops in Tamil Nadu, a daily wage earner today climbed atop a power transmission tower in the city and threatened to commit suicide, police said.

Tamilarasan climbed atop the tower on in Gandhipuram and started making noises, allegedly under the influence of liquor, police said.

As people shouted and asked to come down, he said the Government should assure him that his demands were met, then only he will come down.

However, police managed to bring him down.
