Seven die in road mishap in Bijapur

Seven persons, including a police constable and an eight-year-old child, died and an equal number of persons were seriously injured when the auto-rickshaw they were in collided with a lorry near Devar Hippargi, 40 km from here.

The injured have been admitted to district government hospital, police said.

The deceased have been identified as police conbstable B C Bhuyar (55), Nabilal (55), Latif (20), Gangabai (28), Khajabi (44) and Rakshita (8), a police officer said, adding, "One more body is yet to be identified.
