Small sugar weakens on reduced demand

Small sugar weakened further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from retailers.

While, medium sugar prices showed a mixed pattern of trade owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) moved down by Rs 10/7 per quiantal to Rs 2,622/2,765 from Monday's closing level of Rs 2,632/2,772.

Medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 2,756/2,902 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,742/2,922.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,756/2,902 (Rs 2,742/2,922).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,622/2,765 (Rs 2,632/2,772).
