Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today directed National Highways Authority (NHAI) of India to repair the 183 km stretch from Dibrugarh to Sivasagar within September 30.
He asked NHAI to undertake the repair work on a war footing to ease problems of the commuters.
Reviewing government schemes and programmes in Sivasagar, Sonowal sought information from the district agriculture officer about the caterpillar meance that has wrecked havoc on crop land and directed him to take remedial steps.

He took stock of the activities of the zila parishad, power, health, public health engineering, veterinary and animal husbandry and PWD departments.
MPs Rameswar Teli, Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, several MLAs, Chief Secretary Vinod Kumar Pipersenia and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
