Light to moderate rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours, leading to drop in day temperatures in several parts of the state.
The chief amount of rainfall received was 2 cm each in Narora, Gorakhpur, Chandradeepghat, Bansi and 1 cm each in Karvi, Kakrahi and Birdghat, MeT office said here today.
It said that day temperature fell largely in Varanasi, Allahabad divisions; fell markedly in Bareilly, Moradabad, Meerut divisions; fell appreciably in Lucknow, Agra divisions; fell in Faizabad, Jhansi divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.

It was markedly below normal in Varanasi, appreciably below normal in Allahabad, Bareilly, Jhansi, Meerut divisions, below normal in Moradabad, Agra divisions and was normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
Highest maximum temperature recorded was 44.2 degree Celsius at Etawah, the weatherman said.
The department said that rain or thundershowers would occur at isolated places over the state tomorrow, adding thunderstorm accompanied with squall would occur at isolated places.
