Student beaten up by teacher in Odisha school

Biswabhusan Makakuda of Class IX sustained injuries on Tuesday after a science teacher allegedly beat him up for failing to answer questions correctly in the class. The incident came to light after the mother of the student lodged a complaint with Jajpur District Education Officer (DEO) and others yesterday, they said.

According to the complaint lodged with DEO and the authorities of the School and Mass Education Department in Bhubaneswar, her ward was beaten up by science teacher, Dhruba Charan Mallik with bamboo stick when he failed to give correct answers to some questions put to him in the class on Tuesday.

 

She claimed that her son received injuries on his hand and leg and was admitted to the local hospital.
