Sugar prices fall on subdued demand, ample stocks

Sugar prices fell by Rs 20 per quintal in the national capital today due to weak demand from bulk consumers amidst huge stocks positions following increased supplies from mills.

Marketmen said heavy stocks position due to steady inflow of supplies from mills against sluggish demand led to the fall in sweetener prices.

In the retail market, sugar prices also fell by Re 1 to Rs 36.00-38.00 per kilo.

In millgate section, sugar Modinagar and Dhampur prices moved down by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,170 per quintal.

Prices of Ramala, Baghpat and Chandpur were down by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,140, Rs 3,150 and Rs 3,140 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 36.00-38.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 (Rs 3,260-3,470); S-30(Rs 3,250-3,450).

Mill delivery: M-30 (Rs 3,120-3,320); S-30 (Rs 3,100-3,300).

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana (Rs 3,205); Kinnoni (Rs 3,320); Asmoli (Rs 3,285); Dorala (Rs 3,190); Budhana (Rs 3,210); Thanabhavan (Rs 3,200); Dhanora (Rs 3,170); Simbholi (Rs 3,320); Modi Nagar (Rs 3,170); Khatuli (Rs 3,285); Dhampur (Rs 3,170); Ramala (Rs 3,140); Bulandshahr (Rs 3,160); Anupshahr (Rs 3,130); Baghpat (Rs 3,150); Morna (Rs 3,150); Sakoti (Rs 3,165); Chandpur (Rs 3,140) and Nazibabad (Rs 3,130).
