Thousands of musicians perform at SilliconAndhra event in Hyd

The patrons of instruments like 'nadasvarams' and 'dhols' to name a few, left the audience spellbound at the 'international convention of traditional and auspicious instruments' an initiative by the organisation.

The SiliconAndhra is a non-profit organisation with goals to maintain and perpetuate the Telugu culture, literature and tradition among the Telugu-speaking people of USA.

The event was aimed at highlighting the significance of traditional music and culture, the organisers said.

The Union Minister of State for HRD D Purandeswari lauded the initiative, saying "it would go a long way in upholding the traditions".

The event was inaugurated yesterday by Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and his Tamil Nadu counterpart K Rosaiah.
