Trial run of temple car held

The trial run of the renovated temple car of Goddess Sivakamasundari, consort of Lord Nataraja of the famous Sri Nataraja temple was held here today.

The car had been renovated at a cost of Rs 75 lakh by the Pachaiappa trust, after it developed major snag during its run in Arudhra Darshan festival last year.

Besides, four more cars of the temple are at various stages of renovation by the trust.

Temple officials and priests were present during the trial run of the car.

Chief priest of the temple, S Rathinasabapathy said the car had been renovated in such a way that its original splendour and magnificence was not lost.
