Two arrested in connection with burglaries

Two people were arrested here in connection with burglaries in different parts of the city and gold jewellery weighing 1.25 kg was seized from them, the police said here today.

Khazim Ali Khan, who had allegedly committed property offences for the past several years, was arrested along with his associate Mohammed Rawoof yesterday, the police said.

Ali Khan's sister is a practising advocate in Andhra Pradesh High Court and his father is a retired central government employee.

Allegedly, his family members threatened the police when they went to arrest him, the police said, adding that further investigations are on.
