Two persons have been arrested
for reportedly demanding Rs 50 lakh from a Faridabad-based entrepreneur, a police spokesperson said today.
The accused have been identified as Gurudutt and Anil, he said, adding both were working in a private company in Noida.
While Gurudutt is a distant relative of the complainant, the other accused is a friend of the former.
The duo made an extortion call to Ashwani Panchal and threatened him to arrange for Rs 50 lakh or else they said they would abduct his son, the spokesperson said.
The accused were traced after two others, arrested in a mobile snatching incident, said they sold the stolen mobiles to Gurudutt and Anil, police added.
