Two arrested with peacock carcasses

Two persons were arrested with carcasses of six peacocks in Alfanagar village here, police said today.

The two accused, Ballu alias Dinesh (30) and Mukesh Kanjar (35), were nabbed last afternoon by the locals who found them with the dead birds in agriculture fields here, they said.

The duo first poisoned the birds and were fleeing with the carcasses when they were nabbed and handed over to police, SHO of Talera Police Station, Bhagwati Prashad said.

Police seized the carcasses and a motorcycle from the spot.

Postmortem was conducted in which cause of the death was found to be poisoning, the SHO added.
