Two drown in check dam

Two persons drowned in a check dam near Yercaud in the district this evening, police said.

A group of seven persons, all employed in silver anklet making units, went to Yercaud for a week-end trip and were returing here when they halted at Kuthiraikuthipallam Check Dam for a bath.

Two of them drowned in the dam, police said adding their bodies had been retrieved.
