Two get one-year jail term for sexual harassment

A local court has sentenced two youths to one-year imprisonment for sexually harassing a woman in her home six years ago.

Additional District Sessions Judge Rajesh Bhardwaj, who passed the order yesterday, also imposed a fine of Rs 3,500 each on Shabbir and Rohit. They were held guilty of assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the prosecution, the two had entered the home of a 30-year-old woman in Khajana village and sexually harassed her on April 25, 2011.
