A 33-year-old auto rickshaw driver received serious gunshot injuries when two unidentified motor-cycle borne miscreants fired at him in busy Khadianga locality here today.
Rajendra Patra, who received bullet wound in his thigh and lower abdomen has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack in critical condition, police said.
Exact motive of the crime is yet to be ascertained. The identity of the miscreants is also yet to be established, they said.
More than a dozen of shootout and bomb-throwing incidents have been reported in Kendrapara and suburb areas in recent past.
