Uttar Pradesh government today issued strict directives to the district level officers, asking them to ensure avaibility to public during office hours.
"The CM has directed the district level officers to remain present in their offices between 10 am to 12 noon at all cost. He has warned that any laxity will be dealt with seriously," an official spokesman said in a statement.
The CM directed Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan that field officers should readdress public grievances by taking effetive steps.

He said that landline phones of the district officers should remain functional through which they could be contacted.
The perfomance of officers would be evaluated on the basis of number of people they met during public hearing and steps taken by them for redressal of grievances, the statement said.
