 "VE Commercial Vehicles sales up 18.54% in June")
VE Commercial Vehicles today reported 18.54% increase in total sales in June at 4,935 units as against 4,163 units in the same month last year.
The company, a joint venture between Sweden's Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, said Eicher-branded trucks and buses recorded total sales of 4,878 units in June compared with 4,063 units in the corresponding month last year, up 20%.
In the domestic market, sales of Eicher trucks and buses stood at 4,256 units in June compared with 3,537 units in the year-ago month, up 20.32%, VECV said in a statement.
Exports of Eicher trucks and buses were at 622 units in June as against 526 units in the same month last year, a growth of 18.25%.
Volvo trucks recorded a 43% decline in sales at 57 units last month compared with 100 units in June 2015, the company added.
