A 22-year-old woman died after allegedly being beaten by her husband in Rageshwari area here, police said today.
The victim, identified as Laasi Devi died on Thursday in a government hospital, where she had been admitted after being brutally thrashed by her husband on Tuesday, Rageshwari police station SHO Mularam said.
Yesterday, a complaint was registered against the husband, Rama Ram Meghwal, by the victim's brother, police said.
Laasi Devi had married Meghwal four years ago and her brother alleged the accused frequently physically abused her.
The victim in her statement on Wednesday had accused her husband of beating her, police said, adding the investigations are underway.
