Youth shot dead, friend injured near Metro station

A youth was shot dead and his friend injured by three men near a Metro station here, police said today.

Shivam Mishra (24) and his friend Sachin Dubey were returning home after dinner at another friend's place yesterday when the accused shot at them near Laxmi Nagar Metro station in east Delhi after a minor scuffle and fled the spot on a bike, police said.

The victims were rushed to a hospital where Mishra was declared dead while Dubey is undergoing treatment, they said.

Footage from CCTV cameras outside the Metro station has been collected, police said, adding that they have also got the registration number of the bike.
 

The reason behind the incident was not clear, but it was a sudden provocation by the attackers, the police said, adding that investigation is on in the case.
