12.59% Paper Sees Rs 60cr Turnover

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market segment at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) clocked a trading volume of Rs 373.21 crore.

The corporate debenture segment of the bourse witnessed 380 trades, accounting for trades worth Rs 15.72 crore.

With the call money rate ruling in the region of 7-8 per cent, volumes were not picking up.

There was also a reduction in the prices of securities by an average 10 paise.

In the treasury bills segment, the 364-day bills maturing on October 9, 1998, were traded for Rs 40 crore at a weighted yield of 8.04 per cent.

The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was traded for Rs 60 crore at a weighted yield of 10.68 per cent. The 12.14 per cent gilt maturing in 2000 was traded for Rs 25 crore at a weighted yield of 9.65 per cent.

 

In the corporate debenture segment, the zero per cent Reliance Capital 2002, at a yield of 14.95 per cent, was traded for a sum of Rs 13.55 crore, while the zero per cent Reliance Petro 2001, at a yield of 14.95 per cent, was traded for Rs 34.56 lakh. The 16.75 per cent Tisco SPN 2006 was traded for Rs 1.72 crore at a yield of 15.69 per cent.
