Apple To Log Out Of Pact With Wipro Infotech

Apple Computer India has decided to phase out its distribution agreement with Wipro Infotech, the country's second largest infotech group.
The parting of ways has come following both the companies taking a re-look at their respective businesses.
As per the arrangement, Wipro will cease to distribute Apple products in due course but will continue to service and support its products independently.

This follows Apple's decision to augment its distribution channels in the country. It has tied up with Redington for the distribution products in the country.
Thus Apple products will continue to be distributed through its channel partners, Odin Computers, Redington, Tangerine Computers, Unicorp Industries and International Graphics Ltd, in addition to a wide network of authorised resellers in the country.
"We are working very closely with Wipro and our resellers to ensure that our customers remain unaffected. Apple is also expanding its network to keep pace with its plans in the region," said R K Gupta, managing director, Apple India.
"Wipro had to make this change to provide greater focus to other existing businesses in the emerging scenario," said Ram Agarwal, president of peripherals products division, Wipro Infotech group. He, however, added that Wipro will ensure that Apple customers and Wipro's 'Maxima' channel partners remain unaffected due to this change.
