Bid Evaluation For Jnpt Terminal Over

The port trust will finalise the technical bids and recommend opening of financial bids in a weeks time, R Vasudevan, chairman, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), said.
This will affect the fate of 17 companies, including Samsung Corp, Marubeni Corp and Bank of America, who had bid for the project. Others in the race include Larsen & Toubro and IL&FS.
Five consortia submitted their bids for building a container terminal consisting of two berths on August 16. One consortium includes Samsung Corporation, Port of Singapore Authority, Celestar Investments, Neptune Orient Line and Samrat Shipping. ABG Heavy Industries, Hong Kong International Terminals and Bank of America comprise the second consortium; Marubeni Corpl, Evergreen Intl and IL&FS make up the third, while Larsen & Toubro, Stevedoring Services of America and Precious Shipping constitute the fourth; P&O Australia Ports, DBC Port Management and Konsortium Perkapanan Berhad make up the fifth.
