Essar Comm Contract For Motorola

The Essar Commvision Ltd, of Essar group, has awarded a contract to Motorola Multimedia group for the installation of 2000 cable telephone lines in Punjab.

Pramod Saxena, chief executive office of Essar's telecommunications group, said: "We view this contract with Motorola as a mutually synergistic combination to reach out of the integrated multimedia communication services of the future

The contract signifies a major technological step forward for the telecommunications and cables industries.

He said India offers the industry a vast potential to update the communication infrastructure and set up state-of-the-art networks. Consumers will gain much-needed base telephone service, with future options for cable television and high speed internet access.
