Fairy Queen

Fairy Queen - the countrys oldest preserved broad-gauge steam engine will run again, hauling a special tourist train between Delhi and Alwarin Rajasthan, later this year.
The Fairy Queen, built in 1855 by a British firm for the East Indian Railway, is currently being exhibited at the National Rail Museum in Delhi. The locomotive will haul a tourist train from Delhi Cantonment to Alwar on October 18, November 15, December 20 and January 17 and February 21 next year, official sources here said. Passengers, after an overnight stay at a palace hotel and a visit to the nearby tiger sanctuary and Alwar museum, will leave Alwar by the train for Delhi next day. Boarding, lodging and sight seeing charges will be included in the train fare. The Fairy Queen would be the oldest steam locomotive in the world to run on the main line. The train will have a first class chair-car with a capacity of 60 seats and a pantry, the sources said.
