TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Hyderabad and themauka.com, a platform for learning, hiring and placement operations for students, employers and colleges, have announced a 12-month fellowship programme for budding entrepreneurs.
Starting in August 2013 along with Venture for India (VFI), the programme encourages entrepreneurs from ‘an idea’ to ‘a prototype’ stage. According to TiE Hyderabad, the fellowship is open for 10 entrepreneurs this year. Existing entrepreneurs and also budding student entrepreneurs who are in their final year of graduate or postgraduate school are eligible for the fellowship.
The selected fellows are sponsored by VFI to go to Columbia University in the state of New York to attend a three-week programme in May 2013 prior to the actual incubation in August.
The year-long fellowship programme will entail a series of mentoring sessions, which will help the entrepreneur scale his idea to a business model. By the end of the programme, the entrepreneur gets a chance to pitch his venture to investors, TiE Hyderabad stated in a press release.
