First Half Output At Salem Steel Plant At New Peak

Cumulative cold rolled sale-able steel production has registered a ten percent growth and produced 27,729 tonnes during April-September 1996. The total saleable steel production of both cold rolled and hot rolled flat products during the above period was 61,259 tonnes which is 139 per cent over the same period last year. The hot rolling steckel mill produced 33,530 tonnes of salea-ble steel, which is 94 per cent of the internal target of 35,600 tonnes. Sales of hot rolled products are also high at 105 per cent of the target during the period.
