Fuji Bank Sees 90b Loss On Securities

Japan's Fuji Bank Ltd said on Tuesday that it will post appraisal losses totalling 190 billion yen on its securities holdings for the financial year which ended on March 31. The losses, which came largely from the fall in Tokyo stock prices, have helped push down the bank's own parent current profit forecast to 30 billion yen for 1996/97 from its earlier estimate of 70 billion, Fuji said in a statement. Fuji also revised down its forecast for its group current profit estimate to 60 billion down for the year from its earlier estimate of 100 billion yen.
