The Centre assured the Jammu and Kashmir government yesterday that funds for the Centrally-sponsored schemes would be made available to the state in time. Union rural areas and employment minister Yarran Naidu told A R Rather, the states agriculture and rural development minister, that the Centre will provide additional Central assistance to the state under the Indira Awas Yojna for 1996-97. The assistance per unit under the scheme would be raised from Rs 15,000 to Rs 22,000 from August for Jammu and Kashmir. PTI
