The government has appointed K C Mishra, additional secretary to the Andhra Pradesh government, as the next chairman of the Forward Markets Commission, the regulatory body for commodity futures exchanges in the country.
Mishra will replace V K Aggarwal as the chairman of the FMC. Aggarwal, surprisingly was a long way away from completing his scheduled term of operation, as he was set to vacate the post in December 2000. Aggarwal has not yet decided on his next assignment.
