Trading Volumes Fall To Rs 91.20 Crore

Dull sentiments prevailed in the wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange.

The segment witnessed trading to the tune of Rs 91.20 crore yesterday. The past two months have been witnessing high volumes as call rates remained within single digits. The prices of securities saw a fall as calls remained low on reporting Friday.

The 13.50 per cent central government security maturing in 1997 was traded at Rs 103.11. The paper was traded for Rs 5 crore at 10.15 per cent yield. On Thursday, the paper saw deals at Rs 103.15.

Another deal was struck in the same paper for Rs 10 crore at 10.16 yield. The deal, which is to be settled after one day, was done at Rs 103.11.

 

Among the other short-term securities which saw trading was the 91-day and the 364-day treasury bills.

The 91-day treasury bill maturing on December 28 was traded for Rs 10 crore at 7.25 per cent yield. The deal, which is to be settled after one day, was transacted at Rs 99.03.

The 364-day treasury bill maturing on October 10 was traded for Rs 5 crore at 9.90 per cent yield.

A Rs 10-crore deal was transacted in the 364-day treasury bill maturing on November 7 at 10 per cent yield.

The RBI also hiked the cut-off yield on the 91-day treasury bills.
