BSCAL

The management is seriously considering the shift to Goa due to the long distance from the centre of the city to Bangalore suburbs where facilities has already been set up.

According to the Tulip managing director, Sandip Bhatia, We are thinking of setting up a Tulip gallery at the existing site. Although other options are open to the management.

Bombay-based Lan Esada had already built a plant for the assemblage of semi-knock down kits with the Mother Board being supplied by Dutch partner Tulip. Other parts will be procured indigenously.

Rs six crore has already been invested by Tulip's Indian partner, Lan Esada for developing and building a factory in Bangalore.

The company has already identified three to four locations in Goa, although no decision has been taken as yet.

The capacity of the new plant will be about 100,000 units. Of the total production, 70 per cent would be exported to Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and other Asian countries, while the remaining 30 per cent would be sold in the domestic market.
