Uks Second-Largest Bus Operator Has Had To Find New Headquarters,

Cowies role in the Eurotrans consortium is as operator of the transport systems. The consortium, whose other members include Taylor Woodrow, Morrison Construction, Christiane & Nielson, and the Swiss tram maker Vevey Technologies, has put in bids for both the 110 million second phase of Manchesters light rail transit system and the proposed 100 million Leeds Supertram system.
An announcement of the successful bidder for the Manchester Metrolink extension is expected shortly. Eurotrans is the preferred bidder for Leeds. Last Tuesday, Cowie was reclassified by the London Stock Exchange, becoming a transport group rather than a motor distributor. Monday, the company finalised a move of its headquarters from its original premises in an inner city area of Sunderland to a building more in keeping with its recently acquired ranking as a FTSE 200 company.
It announced it will move to purpose-built premises at a greenfield site at Doxford International Business Park.
