Wax Quota

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

As small-scale manufacturers of candles, we are totally dependent on the timely supply of paraffin wax from Indian Oil Corporation. Our consumers are poor and from backward areas.They are dependent on candles for a basic necessity like light.

However, the management of Indian Oil has frustrated and depressed us by not giving us our due quota in time. In spite of repeated letters, phone calls and visits to a number of senior officers of Indian Oil, we have failed to get 46 tonnes paraffin wax due to us as per our quota since more than four decades.

 

The poor consumers, small retailers, our labourers, staff and ourselves have all suffered bec-ause of the attitude of the officers. We therefore request the petroleum minister to ensure that our quota is released at the earliest.
