Wisner To Lead Delegation To Tamil Nadu

The delegation is called Tamilnadu Invest Mission. The delegates will be in the city for a day on October 11.
The members of the group will have a series of meetings with the state government officials, local industrialists and various chambers of commerce.
This will be the first such mission to the southern part of the country although such visits have already been made to Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Some of the companies that will form part of the delegation include Arthur Anderson, Bank of America, Citibank, Raytheon India, Seargent and Lundy, Hewlett Packard India, Modi Xerox, Occidental India, Bell Helicopter, Dhabol Power company, Edison Mission Energy and Indersoll Rand.
Though many of these companies already have a presence in the country, their mission will be to look at the investment opportunities that the state offers.
Industry observers here believe such visits are a direct fallout of Ford Mahindra project coming to Tamil Nadu.
Similarly, senior government official point out, there has been a spate of Korean business delegations visiting the state, following Hyundai's decision to locate its car plant in Tamil Nadu.
