200 cap on SMSes to stay, says SC

The Supreme Court on Monday passed an interim order reintroducing the limit on unsolicited commercial SMSes, keeping in abeyance the Delhi High Court order, which had lifted the cap imposed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. Bulk SMS by telemarketers, more than 200, will remain suspended till the court hears the appeal of TRAI after notice to the opposite parties.
