Deutsche Messe to bring 3 tech fairs to India

Bs Reporter Chennai/ Bangalore
Deutsche Messe AG, the world's foremost trade fair company, is bringing to India three prominent trade exhibitions " Industrial Automation India, MDA India, and CeMAT India " in 2007.

These fairs are to be held in Bangalore between December 4-7 at the IMTMA's Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC) near Peenya.

Deutsche Messe early this year signed a co-operation agreement with the Indian Machine Tools Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) in connection with the marketing of the new exhibition centre in Bangalore. The agreement provides Deutsche Messe a springboard to the Indian market for bringing its prominent trade fairs to India.

Industrial Automation India is an international exhibition for production, automation, process automation and industrial building automation. MDA India is also an international level exhibition focusing on electrical and mechanical power transmission, fluid power transmission, compressed air technology and machine parts while CeMAT India will focus on material handling, automation technology, transport systems and logistics.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Wolfgang Pech, managing director, Hannover Fairs, said, "The 2007 trade fairs in India are attracting huge interests. Though space booking for this exhibition is yet to commence, we are already getting good response from Italy, France and Spain."

The key reason for such an unprecedented demand from European companies is that many of them are looking at expanding business where economy is growing rapidly, he added.

Explaining Hannover Fairs-2007, Pech said the technology trade fair to be held from April 16-20, would feature 13 international fairs.

Together with these events, a cross-section of all the latest technical innovations, trends and know-how for all major industries are expected to be displayed.

"In India, we are marketing for companies looking at subcontracting, energy and motion drive automation (MDA) sectors," he said.

According to Pech, participation from India at Hannover Messe is growing by the year. For the 2007 fair, about 70 companies have confirmed so far. Major organisations like Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC), ECIMA and others are yet to confirm.

During the 2006 fair, about 150 Indian companies participated by taking up 3,000 sq metre of trade space. In 2005, 107 companies took part by taking 1,600 sq metre.
