Freescale starts volume production of MRAM device

Freescale Semiconductor has announced the commercial production of Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory (MRAM) device for a variety of applications such as networking, security, data storage, gaming and printers.

"The 4 megabit MRAM product is a fast, non-volatile memory built on a foundation of technology protected by more than 100 Freescale patents. With the commercialisation of MRAM, Freescale is the first to market with a technology of tremendous possibilities and profound implications," said Bob Merritt of Freescale's Semiconductor Research group.
