| The new range "" HP xw8600, HP xw6600 and HP xw4600 workstation series "" is aimed at meeting the high-end computing demands of businesses. |
| The HP xw8600 and HP xw6600 workstation series are powered by two Quad-Core and Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors. The HP xw4600 workstation combines a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo and Intel Quad-Core processors to support the data-intensive professional applications in high-performance computing environments. |
| According to IDC's Asia/Pacific Quarterly Workstation Tracker, Q3 2007, HP led the "India Branded Personal Workstation" market in Q3 2007 with marketshare of 57.9 per cent unit shipments. |
| Commenting on the launch, Anurag Gupta, Country Manager - Workstations, Personal Systems Group, HP India said, "HP will continue to focus on satisfying the region's most-demanding users of workstations. We are offering more performance and robust capabilities with an eye towards designing for the environment." |
| He contended that HP workstations were 90 per cent recyclable by weight. |
| The new HP workstations are expected to begin shipping in mid-December this year. The HP xw6600 and HP xw8600 workstations will be priced starting Rs 75,000 plus taxes whereas the HP xw4600 workstations start at Rs 42,000 plus taxes. |
| As part of the Asia Pacific leg of a "world tour", the "mother of all workstations" will be showcased in Sydney, Singapore, Bangalore, Mumbai, Seoul and Beijing. |
