MTNL plans call centre for its range of services

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) will set up a 186-seater
call centre for facilitating its landline operations in Mumbai
by the end of this month.

"The company will be soon setting up a call centre to facilitate its landline operations in Mumbai. This will act as one-point contact for landline operations," MTNL executive director Kuldeep Goyal said on the sidelines of launch of new broadband services.

Asked about the cost of the call centre, Kuldeep said the technology cost alone would come up to Rs 4 crore and the company already had necessary infrastructure and human resources required for the venture.

Goyal said the company would be setting up a 400-seater call centre for its cellular services at a later stage."We are planning to set up call centres for landline, GSM services, CDMA and broadband services," Goyal said.

According to senior MTNL officials, locations for call centre for landline operations have been identified at three places in Mumbai city including Fountain with 106 seat capacity, Goregaon with 50 seats and Thane with 30 seats.

"Bandra-Kurla complex in Mumbai suburbs has been identified for call centre operations for MTNL wireless operations. This will be a 300 to 400 seater facility," Kuldeep said.

MTNL would be adding 200 to 300 seats every year after setting up of these two call centres for landline operations and wireless operaions, Kuldeep further said.
