Ahmedabad-based nCode Solutions, the IT division of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertiliser Corporation (GNFC), has launched 'Auth(n)ticate', a security application and management services to cash in on growing security concerns in the financial sector.

Jagdeep Kochar, executive director, nCode Solutions, said, "It is common with the financial institutions like banks to suffer from what is known as 'man-in-the-middle' attacks in their online transactions. Either, the hackers try to hack username and passwords of customers or some disloyal bank employee may tamper with the server. Through 'Auth(n)ticate' online transactions would be routed through nCode to make it more secured."

According to Kochar, the company has developed eight different methods of verification including short messaging services on mobile phones, global positioning system (GPS) and number grid cards for enhancing the security.

The company has also conducted pilots projects with a few financial institutions. It is now in talks with several banks to offer MAS.

Depending on the kind of method selected by the financial institution or its customers, nCode Solutions would be charging between Rs 100 and Rs 200 per user per annum for Auth(n)ticate.
