Tata Tele to expand to 300 towns by Dec

| Tata Teleservices has announced plans to expand Tata Indicom services to 300 towns in Karnataka by the end of this year from the present 200. |
| "With current subscriber base at around half a million in the state, we see potential of getting one lakh new subscribers every month," said Manzoor Ameen, Karnataka circle operating officer, Tata Teleservices. |
| To increase its subscriber base, the company on Wednesday as part of pre-paid services launched Tata Indicom 'Don't stop mobile'. |
| "This new product surpasses all previous efforts made in India's booming telecom industry to provide affordable and customer friendly telecom services to the masses," said Ameen. |
| 'Don't stop mobile' allows customers to make free outgoing calls for a period of 2 years to any Tata Indicom mobile or Tata Indicom fixed phone within the state, subject to a maximum of 3,600 minutes. |
| According to Ameen, with this new offering, there is no fixed monthly commitment, subscribers are free to recharge with any recahrge voucher (starting at Rs 50) and use the value. |
| "Target audience for this 'Don't stop mobile' offer are the vast masses. We believe that it is this customer segment to which we need to extend such revolutionary services. By changing the lives of this category, we can achieve true development and higher mobile penetration," he added. |
| As part of this scheme or service offering, the company has come out with mobile handsets namely Indicom Ace priced at Rs 2,299, Haier D1000 at Rs 2,499, Kyocera Prisma at Rs 2,799 and Indicom Star at Rs 3,749. |
