AAP plans to contest all 60 seats, 2 LS constituencies in Arunachal in 2024

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed its desire to field candidates in all 60 assembly constituencies and two Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh in the general elections next year. AAP state unit general secretary Toko Nikam told reporters that the party is committed to providing free water, electricity, medical facilities till Rs 10 lakh and world class education if they come to power in the northeastern state in 2024. Nikam said that if elected to power, the AAP will repeal the controversial Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (APUAPA) of 2014 and the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act of 1978. Protests erupted in the northeastern state after the state government booked 40 people under the APUAPA in connection with a 72-hour bandh call in the state capital this year. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday termed the dismissal of Tamil Nadu minister V Senthil Balaji by Governor R N Ravi "outrightly unconstitutional" and said such decisions come under the "exclusive domain" of the chief minister. The AAP's reaction came after the governor dismissed Balaji from the Council of Ministers, days after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged cash-for-jobs scam. Chief Minister M K Stalin said his government will challenge the governor's move legally, contending that Ravi had no authority to dismiss a minister from the cabinet. The AAP on Thursday appointed senior leader and Rajinder Nagar MLA Durgesh Pathak as the party's in-charge for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). An order to this effect was issued by AAP national general secretary (organisation) Sandeep Pathak. "The party hereby announces Durgesh Pathak as the MCD 'Prabhari' for the state of Delhi. We wish him all the very best for his new responsibility," Pathak said in the order, a copy of which was shared by the AAP on Twitter. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday announced his party's support to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal against the Centre's ordinance on control of services in the national capital after a meeting here with the AAP convener. AAP dissolves Goa executive committee; party to undergo complete revamp

The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday dissolved its Goa executive committee, a senior AAP leader said. The move is aimed at revamping the party's state unit, AAP's Goa president Amit Palekar said.
