Delhi mayor stand-off: AAP's Shelly Oberoi moves SC to seeks timely polls

Aam Aadmi Party's mayoral candidate Shelly Oberoi moved the Supreme Court on Thursday demanding the mayoral election be conducted in a time-bound manner, party officials said. The Delhi mayor election was stalled on Tuesday for the second time this month as the House was adjourned indefinitely by the LG-appointed presiding officer following a ruckus by some councillors. Accusing the BJP of hooliganism and halting Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House proceedings, AAP National spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the Leader of the House Mukesh Goel and mayor candidate Shelly Oberoi approached the top court to allow the mayoral elections be conducted in a time-bound manner. GFP, AAP slam Goa collector's circular seeking funds for event on Jan 26

A circular issued by the South Goa district collector asking for a contribution of Rs 1,000 each from the staff for an event to be held on January 26 has been criticised by the opposition Goa Forward Party and the Aam Aadmi Party. While Collector Jyoti Kumari has said it is not a Republic Day programme, GFP chief Vijai Sardesai hit out at the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and his cabinet, claiming they have drained the treasury and now government functions have to be funded by "contributions". Aam Aadmi Party workers on Saturday staged a protest outside the Delhi BJP office, days after the city government directed its Public Works Department to immediately withdraw an order to demolish slums located near Dhaula Kuan. AAP gets recovery notice of Rs 163.62 cr for political ads: Report

The AAP has been issued a notice for recovery of Rs 163.62 crore for its political advertisements allegedly published in the garb of government advertisements, sources said on Wednesday.
